Soil & Test Settings
Compaction % and moisture deviation define the random generation window.
Procedure (as per IS:2720 Part 29)
- Drive core cutter into soil; trim flush and weigh cutter + wet soil (Ws).
- Take representative wet sample (W₂ = 300 g) for moisture; oven-dry to get W₁.
- Bulk density Yb = (wet soil mass) / Vc (g/cm³).
- Water content W% = (W₂ − W₁) × 100 / W₁.
- Dry density Yd = 100 × Yb / (100 + W).
- Compare Yd with MDD to compute % compaction and moisture deviation from OMC.
